Two Teenage Girls Sold For $64 Rescued By Police

Two teenage girls sold as wives in Mozambique for $64 have been rescued by Police. The girls aged 17 and 13 were being trafficked by a group but were rescued near the Swaziland border.

They told officials that they were tricked by relatives who promised them lucrative jobs in salary. One of the girls told a TV station, “I didn’t want to marry someone who was buying me. He said my reaction wasn’t logical because he had already paid for me.”

A woman has been arrested in connection with the incident but she has denied any involvement in trafficking the girls.
