A bomb blast which ripped through a Catholic Coptic cathedral in Egypt has left 25 people dead. Egyptian authorities say the blast occurred at around 10am on Sunday morning while services were being held.
A cathedral worker Attiya Mahrous who rushed to the chapel after he heard the blast, told AP”I found bodies, many of them women, lying on the pews. It was a horrible scene,”
About 10% of Egypt’s population are Christians but religious violence is not very common in Egypt.
