#BBNaija records over 26 million votes in final week

Regional Director M-Net/Africa Magic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, revealed that the recently concluded Big Brother Naija show recorded over 26 million votes.

She stated this during a press conference which held on April 11, 2017, at Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi Lagos.

According to her, the reality show turned out to be a massive success, beating the 20 million votes they once recorded in Big Brother South Africa.

“26 million plus votes, and that’s amazing. The reason why it’s amazing is because, in the history of all the productions we have done (Pan Africa), we have never gotten that,” Wangi said.

“I think the highest we got was in South Africa, they didn’t even reach 20 million votes. So, this is huge.

“Also, it’s not just in Nigeria. Of course, majority of the votes were from Nigeria, but we had viewership from South Africa, and other parts of East Africa.

“I think there are people that now speak the way we speak in other parts of Africa. We have taught them a thing or two. We also have other instances of social media in the UK and in America.

Speaking to Efe and Bisola, Wangi said, “I know you arrived in Nigeria airport and you were wondering. Don’t be surprised when you get to New York, they may not let you leave the airport because it’s really that big.”

Big Brother Naija finale
