Beyonce ‘s dad Mathew Carter has confirmed she’s given birth to twins with Jay Z.

The Single Ladies star, 35, and rapper husband Jay Z, 47, have welcomed two children who join the couple’s first child, daughter Blue, five.

“Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends,” a source told People.

While Us Weekly reports that they welcomed the new arrivals earlier this week, Mathew’s post appears to suggest she gave birth today.

Fans had been piecing clues together for days – from security and cordon’s surrounding the UCLA Medical Centre in LA to Bey’s sister Solange being spotted at the very same hospital.

And Jay Z also skipped the Songwriters Hall Of Fame Awards on Thursday night despite being lined up to receive a special honour on the night.

However, there’s been no official word from the superstar herself yet.

Mirror Celebs has contacted a representative for Beyonce for comment.

Bey and Jay had chosen not to reveal the gender of their twins ahead of the birth, which led to much speculation about whether it would be boys, girls or both joining the Carter family.

In April, Bey’s mum Tina told Extra: “I would be happy with whatever God gives me. It’s the biggest blessing and I’m so excited.”

Beyonce looked ready to pop when she celebrated her baby shower with friends and family on Saturday, May 20, at a bash nicknamed The Carter Push Party by her proud mum Tina.

Among those in attendance were Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and fellow pregnant star Serena Williams.

Beyonce and Jay Z confirmed in February that twins were on the way, announcing their happy baby news via an Instagram photo of Beyonce cradling her blossoming baby bump.

An accompanying caption “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over.

“We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”

Just a week after the pregnancy announcement, Beyonce took to the stage at the Grammy Awards for a blistering performance, but she chose to bow out of April’s headlining slot at the Coachella Music Festival on doctors’ orders.

Beyonce has spoken frequently about how much she loves being a mum and the bond she formed with Blue while still pregnant.

“I felt very maternal around eight months,” she told Vogue.

“I thought I couldn’t become any more [maternal] until I saw the baby. But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child.”

She later told People magazine: “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
