But the snake manages to wriggle out and the children gasp in horror and excitement as to what it might do next.

The carpet python seems determined to make an escape, wrapping itself around a classroom chair.

But Luke remains calm and deals with the situation, unfazed by the cunning creature.

According to Daily Star UK, the incident occurred at Edmund State School in Queensland, Australia on Tuesday.

Experience handler Luke uploaded the clip to his Facebook page called Snake Catcher Noosa later that day.

He said: “Of all the places at the school it was the science room, which was fantastic.”

“It was sitting on the inside of the glass. The whole classroom was watching, and they basically had a live science lesson as I took it down.

“It was a good six-foot python.”

The clip has already racked up over 45,000 hits.

One comment read: “The kids must have been screaming with joy and fright.”

And another added: “What a great science lesson.”

Carpet pythons are not considered dangerous to humans.

They can grow up to 10ft in length.
