President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhamadu Buhari has heeded the voice of the people, and suspended the proposed Ruga Settlement Project.
The Buhari-led administration had claimed that the idea was to minimise or completely eliminate herdsmen/farmers clashes across the country.
The president, after reportedly consulting with stakeholders, decided to suspend the project for a thorough review as well as putting an end to the persistent clashes between herdsmen and farmers.
According to a source in the presidency, an official announcement would be made soon.
Just few days ago, Thomas Gaar, revealed that about 230 Tiv farmers were reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Doma, Keana, Awe, Obi and Lafia local government areas of Nasarawa State.
