Reno Omokri, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide says the crisis that have accompanied the detention of Ibraheem El Zakzaky would have been averted if the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Burutai had handled the issue maturely.

The former aide said this while recalling the beginning of the crisis between the federal government and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN) aka Shiites.

Omokri said the public must remember that the drama began when Shiites blocked the way of the army chief during their procession, leading to the killings of many and spiralled into more killing and bloody protests recently.

In a tweet on Friday, Omokri said, “In case the public have forgotten, the current crisis with Shiites occurred simply because they blocked the way of Gen. Buratai during their procession. How many deaths would have been avoided, amongst Shiites and security officials, if Buratai had been more mature?”
