The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) have warned the Federal Government to prepare for an indefinite nationwide strike.
This was made known by SSANU’s National Vice President (North), Mr Solomon Alfa, at a press conference following a meeting of the Joint Action Committee of both unions on Thursday in Abuja.
The university workers who are currently on a five-day warning strike advised government to prepare for the “mother of all strikes.

According to both unions, the strike has become important following the failure of government to show firm commitment towards resolving the issues raised, including the payment of earned allowances to members.
The Joint Action Committee also made it clear that the National Executive Councils of the two unions would not fail to sanction those who fail to comply with the directive.
