The Senate has initiated plans to establish a rehabilitation, deradicalisation and integration agency that would cater for repentant Boko Haram members in the country.
A bill, sponsored by Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe East senatorial district, was read for the first time on the floor of the Senate on Thursday.

Introduction of the bill by the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, attracted reactions from the lawmakers during plenary.
However, the bill, scaled first reading after it was put to a voice vote by the Deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over plenary.
