The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has announced its plans to drag the federal government and governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade to court over the detention of a journalist, Agba Jalingo.
The group made this statement after the Nigerian prison service failed to provide the journalist on Wednesday in court.

The group revealed it would be presenting the journalist case at the ECOWAS court on Thursday morning.
Agba Jalingo has been detained since August 22, 2019 after his arrest in his Lagos residence over his article published in July where he demanded the whereabouts of the NGN500 million approved and released by the Cross River State government for the floating of the Cross River Microfinance bank.
