The Kano State Government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the new emir of Kano.
Bayero, who is the son of late Emir Ado Bayero, replaces Muhammad Sanusi 11, who was dethroned and banished to Nasarawa on Monday.

A statement on Monday by the Kano Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji revealed the appointment of the new Emir of Kano.
Usman expressed that the appointment was made by the Governor, based on the recommendation of kingmakers.
The new Emir of Kano was the former Emir of Bichi.
