Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu has mocked Nigerian media houses for focusing solely on Coronavirus.
The country recorded its first case of coronavirus from an Italian national who visited Ogun and Lagos while in the country. The Italian was said to have been in the country since Monday but tested positive to the disease on Friday.
Since the arrival of the disease in Nigeria, media coverage around the country has focused on reports concerning it.

In a tweet on Sunday, Shehu said most Nigerian newspapers have coronavirus as their lead story, but have failed to give same coverage to malaria.
“This morning’s newspapers, all of them have Coronavirus as the lead,
cover story.
“When will they bring the spotlight to bear on 822 who are killed by malaria everyday in Nigeria?”
