Sanusi: Governors Can Dethrone Any Monarch – Presidential Aide

Tolu Ogunlesi, Special Assistant on Digital/New Media to President Buhari, has expressed that a sitting governor has the power to dethrone any monarch in his state.

Ogunlesi made this statement following the ongoing debate on social media whether the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had the constitutional authority to dethrone former CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido as Emir of Kano.

Ogunlesi added that Monarchs are appointed by the state governors and are also funded by state governors and so they are answerable to the governors.
