Senate Approves Buhari’s Borrowing Plan Of $22.7Bn

Ther senate has given President Muhammadu Buhari a nod in his quest to borrow $22.7 billion.

The matter was debated on the floor of the Senate on Thursday, 5th March where it was met with strict opposition from some members among whom is Enyinnaya Abaribe, the minority leader.

Abaribe in his argument warned against considering all the recommendations on the loan at once.

However, the senate president Ahmed Lawan disagreed with him and the request was ratified.

Buhari sent the loan request to the senate in 2019 though it was rejected by the previous senate under Bukola Saraki.
