Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has stated that the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would resolve issues concerning the prolonged strike soon.
Fayemi, who is the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), stated this while speaking during the 24th Convocation of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, where 11,437 candidates bagged various degrees.
He stated that he had the opportunity to be part of negotiations between the federal government and ASUU in his capacity as the NGF chairman.

According to the governor, with the successes recorded so far, the government and ASUU are closer to a resolution of the crisis than people think.
He also called on labour leaders in the institution to always embrace peace and give room for dialogue in resolving many of the issues that might come short of their expectations.
