US Reps Impeach Trump Over Capitol Hill Invasion

The United States House of Representatives has formally impeached the United States President, Donald Trump for inciting violence on Capitol Hill.

The House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to charge Trump with inciting last week’s mob attack on Congress.

The Senate will not hold a trial before January 20, when Democrat Joe Biden assumes the presidency.

With the development, Trump becomes the first US president to be impeached twice after his impeachment in 2019.

The final vote was 232 to 197, while five abstained, 10 Republicans broke ranks, including the party’s number three in the House, Representative Liz Cheney.
