Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has called for the devolution of power and restructuring of the nation.
lkpeazu made the call while presenting Abia State’s position during the South-East Zonal Public Hearing of the House of Representatives Special Committee on the Review of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria held in Owerri, Imo State.
He was represented at the event by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu.

Ikpeazu challenged the National Assembly to urgently amend the constitution and establish a Federal, State and Local Government Police.
Ikpeazu further made a case for constitutional roles for traditional rulers.
He stated that traditional rulers are closer to the people and this should be done to enable them perform better for the enhancement of good governance, rapid socio-economic development and provision of peace and security in the rural communities.
