Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has vowed to seek redress in court against the lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe over alleged threat to his life.
A petition reportedly addressed to The Clerk of the Abia State House of Assembly from the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, summoned Onwusibe to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for an interview last week over a case of threat to the life of an undisclosed figure in the state by the lawmaker.
According to reports, the lawmaker returned to the state on Saturday after 24hrs in Abuja over the invitation to the Force CID Complex.
Ikpeazu through his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka in a statement on Sunday titled “Unwarranted Attacks on The Person and Office of The Governor of Abia State… Enough is Enough” accused Onwusibe of threatening his life and that of his family.

Ikpeazu stated that he would henceforth activate all known and relevant laws in every single statute book in this country to protect his person, his family and the office of the Governor of Abia State from any further acts that attempt to put him or his family at risk of any kind.
The statement added: “Consequently, let it be known that the Governor will henceforth activate all known and relevant laws in every single statute book in this country to protect his person, his family and the office of the Governor of Abia State from any further acts that attempt to put him or his family at risk of any kind.
“This new approach will either validate the lies peddled against the Governor or put a stop to them henceforth.
“In specific terms, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu wishes to make it categorically clear that he shall pursue his legal rights against Hon. Ginger Onwusibe to a logical conclusion in Courts of Law,” he threatened.
